AND, a long time ago, some maniac made a single others just the other way around.
As much power or accuracy out of a shorter barrel, they are big and bulky for a handgun to be chambered for ..30 carbine, if you consider that a rifle.

Has Colt stopped producing handguns? Both of my distributors are completely out of stock on their 1911 line. I looked on Colts home page and they don't even list handguns.

As far as distributors and dealers are out of stock, that's true centennial 1911, I called a week or two ago and they still hadn't gotten all 750 of them out yet.
With the most recent about a month ago.

I had also used a Milt Sparks (don't remember which model it was about 15 years ago for concealed carry for large handgun....
The crossbreed was ok available.
But it didn't feel as secure to me, especially when carrying a large handgun.

What caliber you think minimum for back up handgun when out hunting squirrels, bow hunting etc in case you run across a hog? There has been least one sighting supposedly in Washington County where we hunt. I have handgun permit so legally can carry.
