Is this normal. Had our '05 Touring in auto mode and noticed that airflow was only coming from the side vents not the middle vents. I'm sure it was coming from the upper dash and lower floor vents but was curious as to why no air came out of the middle...

This is pretty typical on vehicles with auto HVAC systems I think.
To divert the air from the middle vents to the windshield for defrosting.

Just happily paid £430 to have my condencer replaced & AC fully fixed = first fault in 11 years summer use BTW u need to have a dye injected & charge (£70) to see the leak with an UV light...good link to auto air con...

I was always told (rightly or wrongly????) that you use more fuel if you have the air con Enecomnics = windows down increase wind resistance (J curve with speed) & Air Con uses say 10% more fuel.
