My current computer has always run unusually hot no matter what steps I have taken such as: lots of fans—including four 120mms; thermal grease—both generic and Arctic Silver V; placement of the system—ie on top of a desk hutch in open air; etc.

More fans is not usually the answer.
That partially encloses the top of the CPU fan, this makes an easy path to pull cool outside air directlyThis is a rather interesting article on the subject.

There is a separate fan air....
In cars with cabin air cooling ("aircon"), both fans should run at low speed when the air cooling compressor is engaged ("snowflake").
These are temperatures in the top of the radiator itself .

I just had a crazy idea and I'm curious to know if it's feasible or just fantasy on my part.
What if I were to construct a liquid cooling case (like the mineral oil aquariums et al), but instead of using a traditional radiator, I would run a copper coil...

The clutch may be overheating and cutting out (common) or there could be a bad switch .
If they are cold, the problem is more likely a blend door under likely.
If they are warm, your theory is plausible.

STANDARD (RAW WATER) COOLING SYSTEM look at the two diagrams and you'll see the standard raw water cooling system tempers the water "before" it sends it to the engine. That's good because running the water through the hot exhaust manifolds serves a purpose...

The company is apparently no longer in business.
For the standard cooling (no antifreeze or heat exchangers) is 130 to 150 degrees, which is mighty cool it will last forever.

You'll likely hit the powertune limit ....
And your cooling and ambient, but will be using an AC setup just for better VRM cooling and for being even quieter.
Is like 90C on fermi core, doable and acceptable but not desirable.
