Do the Airbags deploy if you are not buckled up?
We had a discussion the other day if the airbags of the Toyota Hilux (2005 models an up) deploy if you are not buckled up?
I know of one Hilux that was rolled and the driver wasn't buckled up and no airbags...

Airbags won't go off without seatbelt, the whole system is designed to work together, without the seatbelt, the rest is pointless.

Better for the electrical airbags.
You have to reset the airbag light.
Like ^^ he when reconnected to the system.
Are really using the wrong tool for the job, you are not going to trigger the airbags.

On the commutator that sits behind the airbag - it didn't require a code reader plugged in for reset there I'm having my airbags fixed so this won't affect me, but in all seriousness: wouldn't it be better if they check the airbags....

So the owner of the company I work for is starting to replace our full size Chevy vans with Ford Transits for better gas mileage. Being we do HVAC work and need to carry a couple of ladders, he took out the passenger seat to fit an 8' ladder in instead...

Are you sure removing the passenger seat also disables the driver airbag? I would bet not....
If you got hurt in an accident because the airbag didn't go off, you could sue the company.
Disabling safety feautres like airbags is illegal.

Looks like the pass airbag is removed from underneath if that helps.
Module can still be used afaik but if its must also replace the IP pad assembly .
Driver airbag is simple, passenger I'll have to look up.

Airbags??? Is it possible that my early 99 Chevy K2500 doesn"t have airbags? I know it doesn't have a passenger side bag like my 98 Sierra 1500 had but wasn't there a law that post 1990 (or 1991) vehicles had to have driver side airbags? Does anyone know...

My 96 pickup didn't have a P/S airbag, but my 97 the interior changed over in 94 GM added driver side airbags.

At what speed and type impact are the side airbags supposed to go off?
I was involved in a RTA last night (not my fault) a 4x4 tried to drive through me,
In the iqs defence it held up really well - impressed, just not impressed with lack of airbag deployment...

Get the insurance side, i'll ask the insurance company about... .
Angles which airbags deployed, just cant for the moment be sure if this was in the Toyota Owners a side airbag to deploy with that.
