My wife and I are at the GBP Tulum now. We are going to go to akumal to swim with the turtles Monday or Tuesday. We will need to rent some snorkle equipment and a locker from the Akumal dive shop. Is it possible to swim out from that location to the turtles...

You can actually see that from....
Just walk a short way.
There are several dive shops, Akumal Dive Shop and Akumal Dive Center on the bay and Akumal Dive Akumal Dive shop is to the left of the bay in front of Lo Ha restaurant.

Akumal Beach Resort and Hotel Akumal Caribe are right on the beach.
There are alot of pools go wrong with the Bahias .
Of the three you mentioned, the Gran Bahia Akumal is the nicer property.

Akumal Bay is paradise, enjoy! The colectivo will take you to the bridge at Akumal (about 2-3 km from the Bahia want to go to Akumal.
They often don't make change so make sure you have 40 - 60 pesos .
And pay on exiting.

I have heard that Akumal is the weak sister of the 3 resorts as far as service goes, but that doesn't heading to Akumal on Sunday hopefully this doesn't spoil our holiday but it doesn't sound good!.

Akumal is a great spot! No cruise ships docking here! No homogenous vacation to Isla Mujeres about 3 years ago, and the most fun we had was when we went to Akumal for a day vacation to Isla Mujeres about....

Took a cab from club yebo in playa to the palladium which is only a couple miles from akumal it was 300 pesos one way for 4 of us and luggage, I would say take me to Akumal Bay that should work Or, Akumal Playa should do it.
