Needed some clarifications on VISA evidencing on the passport - whether it is required or not?

I got tier1 visa and will be eligible for ILR next April, my wife got her independent tier1 visa which is expiring in January and we are planning for getting her stay extended by applying for FLR. hence our visas will remain independent of each other....
