In the past year I've been to Romania, Italy , The DR and Mexico.. each time I'll pick up a few Cubans ( Cohiba, Punch, H. Upman )and each and every time I have been bitterly disappointed.

Leaving for a dive trip in 2 weeks to Cuba (yes unlicensed) so I am a bit freaked about the re-entry into Houston and whether or not to say we have been in Cuba as the MX dates will look a bit funky and also have heard that our smart phones will be taken...

Is pretty useless in Cuba unless it’s to show your friends fotos or video.

I am planning a trip to Cuba Will definitely start and finish in Havana . My question is: Is Santiago de Cuba worth a flight from Havana (and back)? And, if possible: How would you compare SdC with, for example, Trinidad ? Thanks! Hein

Where are you leaving from? OP the flights from Canada to Cuba and back are relatively easy will see that entering the U S after being in Cuba has been a non-issue for several years.

So as an American citizen with no Cuban heritage I am "strongly discouraged" by my Govt. from visiting Cuba. But, I'd still like to see it.
The way I understand it is that it is not illegal to "be" in Cuba, but it is illegal to spend money there. I doubt...

I would suggest things easier.
As a Canadian I have been going to Cuba 2 or 3 times a year now for the past few years.
Thousands of cubans have used this means of transportation navigating from Cuba to the USA.

I like Skype at 99 cents/min cuz I can record the conversation, bt there's slightly cheaper options out there look under " Cuba llama" and "phoning Cuba" etc...
