While I agree with you about today's teams, it was not always like that. The SEC SWAC etc used to be a really shitty conf s and football sucked in the south sans the state of Texas.

Why is football (not American or Canadian football),also called soccer? I knew the answer once but I forget it. I think that the actual proper term is actually soccer, might stem from Africa or is a corruption of some African language word for it..
