I have a computer with an integrated sound card, and speakers. I have an audio system with a tuner (amplifier) and A and B speakers in a different part of the house. How can I wire things up so that I can hear computer sound output on the external-amplifier...

You can buy 3.5mm splitters (the sort of thing ... .
However, that wouldn't allow you to keep the computer speakers wired up also .
I used to have the speaker-out from the sound card running into a basic hi-fi amp, you just need a 3.5mm to twin-phono lead .

I have a Squeezebox that is connected to an amplifier. I'd like the amplifier to switch on/off whenever the Squeezebox is powered on/off. I don't mind writing some plugin code to SqueezeCenter to do this but in hardware terms I am looking for off-the-...

Hello,
Can the error amplifier in the MIC3230 be connected up as a normal voltage error amplifier?
(-i.e. in spite of the fact that its a "transconductance error amplifier")
By that I mean I wish to avoid connecting the feedback compensation components...

....so the normal voltage error amplifier....
In addition, there's a (at least theoretical) risk that the amplifier isn't stable high.
I guess you can connect the amplifier as intended, but the transconductance isn't specified in the datasheet.

Hello, my Linn Kairn pre-amplifier broke down and as it is old, Linn doesn't keep any spare parts for it any more; a repair is going to be expensive. I don't have the budget, at the moment, to replace it with a proper pre-amplifier yet I still would like...

What’s your budget? I’m very happy with my new Croft Micro... .
How much do you want to spend?
I picked up a passive pre for just over £40, to tied me over whilst my pre-amp is being serviced, and I am might impressed with it but it doesn't have a phono stage .

Would it be better to get mixer amplifier or separate devices?
Upgrading is easier with separate devices, but what else should be considered?
How about the wattage? The speakers are 150W@8ohm each, would it be better to get ie. 2x120w@8ohm or 2x240W@8...

I recently upgraded from a Yamaha EMX512SC powered mixer....
Or if upgrading speakers to more power just get a bigger amp .
When you out grow a mixer you upgrade for more channels and patch into you amp .
Limited in expandabilty.
Never liked powered mixers.

Hi is anyone thinking of selling their Avondale-based power amplifier? I'm thinking about upgrading from a 250 and have heard some great things about these amplifiers. Was planning to DIY but don't seem to be able to find the time...

Hi,
I'm working with L-Band ClassAB power amplifier. I have designed a power amplifier using Freescale LDMOS. While testing the amplifier works fine upto 200W ( design is for 1000W peak power at 2uS ( 2% Duty cycle)). After the output power Exceeds 20...

Hi Frank,
Have you considered building a good headphone amplifier? Or is it possible to get one of your prees, with perhaps a beefier headphone amp that could rival your amps if speakers were put to them?
For me, a relatively good pair of speakers and...

What functions should a headphone amplifier have? If we just offered a do it yourself by your power amplifier.
If we use our standard preamp chassis investment cost.
The catch is the chassis.
