So, I have heard that watts aren't necessarily directly related to how loud a receiver is. I'm just wondering how I would go about figuring out what my minimum threshold for buying a receiver is in regards to watts/whatever other measure of power dictates...

Can I use a car amplifier for home use to lower energy comsuption? I've heard from word of mouth that if i use a portable ac connected to a car amplifier with the proper wattage, it can lower the AC's energy consumption. Is this true?

You are not going to save any use....
You can not use a car audio power amplifier to power a home audio speakers.
They do not have the same power as a home audio.
That car audio is designed for a small area.
