3.42 amps for a 3.95 amps power adapter? I have an Acer aspire 5000. When I turn it on, the ambwer power LED blinks 6 or 7 times, and no booting happens. From my googling, it seems to be a power issue. I tried swapping out for a different power supply from another acer. The pos/neg charge is... How much amps required for 40w amps to run smoothly? I'm starting to have my first DIY speaker system having bought some amp kits for it. If you simply supply an amp with too low ohm speakers? A 40W @ 12V .... You of 5A. A 40W @ 12V amp will not only consume 3.3 Amps, that would make it 100% efficient which none are.

I really wouldn't try to swap them around, clearly one machine is capable of drawing more than the other and if you get it wrong then the PSU will go pop and potentially be dangerous too .
