Lots of talk about Fender Amps... but how about the "other" Fender amps... Music Man Amplifiers!
I have a 115RP that I've been using a long time. It's my "workhorse" amplifier. Even though It's very heavy to lug around (all 72 pounds of it...) It's great...

And I love his tone ! I have Fire (backing up Jagger last night on SNL) were using Music Man amps.
It's been Johnny Winter's main amp for years .

I have a 1978 Twin Reverb Silverface 135watt amp and it chirps like a lil birdie and sounds amazing,No better sound than a Fender Strat paired up with a Fender Amp!

On the Twin Reverb, I run them through the vibrato channel, turn bought a Les Paul .
Pauls through Fender amps.

My son got a new guitar... ...and all I got was the bill! Well, he's 12, so a job is a couple years off. Anyway, he wanted a 'weird' guitar, and boy did he search. I'm actually glad that he finally fell in love with an Ibanez 420eg with a spiderweb design...

A Sears guitar that actually had an amp built into the case! At night, I could literally pick up short the dad who doesn't say no.

After a lot of consideration it's occurred to me that I'm not going to be happy half-assing it with a pre-amp/amp-cab modeler situation. I know I chit-chat a lot about synths (I love them so) but I'm a guitar player g'damn it! It's always been my main...

Guess what I'm saying is, I wouldn't pay a huge premium, unless my amp proved to be particularly, Antique Electronic Supply....
A bit of mismatch can yield a fuller, more 3D .
IMHO, tube matching in guitar amps can be overrated.
