So my husband's PCP mailed us a copy of his semen analysis results (finally) and since we have no idea how to read it, I tried to look up online what normal values are to compare his results to. I've been finding different numbers basically every site...

DH had his semen analysis done this morning. The results have changed since we last had it done in 10/2008.
The sperm count has halved. (now 105.5 mil/ml)
The total number of sperm has halved. (now 495 million)
and while those are normal values, its half...

I may be completely wrong on this- but I thought sperm were produced 3 months before they are ejaculated? BUT he could have been sick 3 months ago, too- that could definitely be why they are lower... .

I can't remember the normal numbers my husband told me (I am thinking it was right around 20-40 million so I don't want to say for sure), but he and an ex wife who were trying to conceive had fertility work done because they were having difficulty .

As title says o/h is having a repeat s/a next Wednesday 25th, not really sure why he has to have it repeated because they were happy with the 1st lot? Does anyone know why or is it just procedure ?

Effect one sa etc many factors can cause a change in the analysis for example my ohs were- 0.5mil.

We had our semen re-done at the argc, within 2 months of the other tests.
The semen won't change much if it's less than 3 months old, but maybe just go for a scan.

Does any one have any advice on how to improve my dh's morphology? He's semen analysis came back with an high abnormal count, so we have been referred to a fertility expert to talk about ivf. I would rather do this naturally if we can.
