I've seen some mention of stress relieving on welded boilers after construction. Are they using a heat process or the vibration method? And are they also doing this on thinner and smaller boilers like 1/3 scale? Thanks , chris

Also as Sir Lund has said, vibration that any localized expansion/contraction stress from the welding is relieved throughout the metal exists.
May or may not need to be stress relieved by heat treating.

I a new to CATIA and just getting my head around stress analysis in catia. Could someone explain the reason behind creating meshes? Can stress analysis be done from a solid model once material has been applied or must it be a surface model?
