If I identify an anonymous attempt to hack my servers is there an appropriate response? Or is it a case of look at what they were attempting and make sure we're covered against it and similar attacks?

Your response should be to using the DNS whois info about the source to get word trust the reverse-DNS of the IP because it can be easily spoofed to an unrelated domain or hostname.
But by a compromised machine.

This ain't going to make them popular anyway, 'Anonymous' would be chopping their own legs off of these 'announcments', you have to remember that 'Anonymous' isn't a group, or an organisation, with dudes at the top and a heirarchy.

I have an asp.net application directory, and I want to use anonymous authentication in the Directory Sercurity tab.
If I use the pre-Windows 2000 style DOMAIN\USERNAME for the username, everything is fine.
If I use the AD-style (UPN) usename@domain.local...

There are other some other issues - Tor did not generally protect your DNS proxying may or may not hide your DNS footprint either but this may not be an issue if the anonymity you to choose the best vpn provider....

DSL - DNS problems, Tech Support connection down Our DNS has been flaky all week. I'm streaming online radio just fine, but 8 out of 10 webpages won't open and Google can't find it's own head. Is there another DNS outage? I've tried calling tech support...

My google dns works fine.
Anon have been busy with DOJ, NZ police and MGM to name a few today .
Google is anti-SOPA.
Doubt Anonymous are goin after Google.
