There is a scenario. There is an ask-and-answer website. An answerer can modify his answer, and the history of modification is saved on the server. Be default, only the latest version of each answer is displayed.

It is possible and it may be good idea to create it on a Content Management System (CMS) such as Drupal .
It's not cheap though.

answer had one thumbs up and this would mean 10 points for the best answer plus 1 point for the thumbs (per day) when you log on to Yahoo Answers.

Why do people answer questions on Yahoo Answers when they don't know the answer? I notice a lot of people respond to questions even if they don't have an answer. What is the point?

I agree I think they just answer for the points they wanted to help you answer your question or because they wanted to gain points in Yahoo Answers post pointless....
They make no sense at all.
Of the answers are just plain silly.
