What is the difference between - Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials?

I am already using antivirus on all our PCs, and, of course, we're behind a firewall. Does anti-spyware software like adaware still provide an additional benefit, or does modern antivirus/firewall software solve this problem?

Anyone have any experience with Windows Defender? Is it a replacement for antivirus software or something else to run alongside?
We are looking for something that isnt as bloated as McAfee 8.5i.

On conversations that I have listened to on Security Now , Windows Defender is an anti-spyware software.

Anti-virus Anti-spyware Anti-malware Anti-rootkit And so on. What combination of free Windows tools would protect me from any sort of malware?

Windows defender for spyware AVG for the others Having your computer's network through protection.

You can just reinstall, but I would use Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security....
