All the knives I have made to date have been pinned or cord wrapped handles and I have been given some antler and would like to try a hidden tang handle.
I have a basic idea on how to do this but any advice or tips,tricks...

I put my antler in a vice face up and use....
If you are putting a bolster cap on the end of the antler then you need to flatten the face.
If your antler is not very straight it will effect the length of your tang.
Biggest challenge.

I decided to make an antler cross out of the blue for my wife's cross wall. First I found four small sheds. Then I drilled holes in the bottoms to where they would line up with the opposing antler. Then I broke a screw to fit into the two and glued them...

I got carried away a built a couple more string jigs, I always believe you can improve on every thing, even my own design. This time I used acme thread and a longer spring to make it easier to read, I left the pins longer to help when laying out string...
