AOL, LLC does the email.
And by the way, they're also missing out on your email.

When someone gives me an email address and it is from AOL I think less of this. Am I some sort of Anti-AOLite? I mean my parents don't even use AOL any more. Please help me with my jaded views.

Hi,
I've implemented everything and checked everything (SPF, DomainKey, DKIM, reverse lookup), and only Gmail is allowing my emails to go to Inbox. Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL are all sending my messages to Spam. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Yahoo Contact API for Yahoo also exists, but to this date, no AOL contact api.
AOL As far as I remember AOL doesn't provide API to access its for Hotmail/Live mail.
Which is similar to GData API.

I know that blacklists for spam email addresses exists meaning that for example if you get on AOLs list, you can't send email to aol email addresses afterwards.
But does the opposite exist, I mean whitelists for email addresses that are definite not spam...

AOL has stated that mail from senders who have prepaid 1/4 cent per message (AOL has announced free programs....
Anyways back announced plans to implement it.
Business email which is not in the whitelist so lots of maintenance required.

We have Microsoft Standard Exchange 2007. Sometime recently we have suddenly lost the ability to receive emails from AOL. As far as I can tell, we are receiving all other email nomrally.
The only anti-spam solution we use is a blocklist from zen.spamhaus...

They might have blocked you network that starts spamming, this not only lets you know but lets your resolve the issue with aol faster and look for aol hostnames (should....
First goto AOL's postmaster tools and sine up for a feedback loop.
