You are guaranteed....
If your COM object needs to believe that it is in a single-threaded environment, use STA .
It has no ramifications for .net itself.
You don't have to worry about it unless you're doing COM-interop, in which case there are marshalling issues .

I've lived in upstairs apartments before to people they knew were quiet.
If the floors are carpeted, that helps.
It depends on several things tromps around all day.
I've lived in apartments with loud upstairs neighbors too.

Does anyone have any good websites for apartments in New York. More Specifically, Brookyln in Bushwick/Williamsburg/E Williamsburg. And before everyone starts up with all the "hipster" comments, these areas are cheap and close to my upcoming new job.

You can be in williamsburg in less than 15 minutes from either of those places .
Check out fort greene or clinton hill for somewhat cheaper rent where you won't feel unsafe .
None of those areas are cheap-- not even by nyc standards .
