Hi, my friend who has sleep apea was given sleep meds and is on a cpap machine. I was wondering if it is dangerous for someone with sleep apnea to take sleep meds? Or if you have a certain type of sleep apnea but not another can you then take sleep meds...

Sleep Meds for Sleep Apnea was trying....
Your doctor should know what is appropriate for you.
But some of us have additional sleep disorders that cause us to have risks/benefits.
For people with sleep apnea.
I have been doing some research on sleep apnea....yes,i have it. i didnt understand how dangerous it can be to just ignore it.

I know that to reduce Obstructive Sleep Apnea events, I would increase the pressure.

Then when they find you drowned it won't be called Sleep Apnea maybe, just a freak out was evaluated in this study....

I don't know if this is the right forum for this, I thought IMHO was for medical questions. Either way, apnea runs in my family. My dad has a CPAP and my younger brother has trouble breathing at night (although he hasn't gone in for a sleep test yet)....

There are other sleep disorders and problems to consider.
If you are getting a good nights sleep and are well rested, I don't know why you would think you have it.

My former sleep doctor, who disagreed and said it was UARS, not apnea, said lose weight signifcantly.
It takes time to feel better.
That could be causing the sleep apnea.
Of muscles etc.

Untreated sleep apnea will result in a denial....
The diagnosis will for sure impact the medical certificate.
