I am fairly comfortable with the FAFSA - 4th year doing it - but I am confused regarding the new option to import income from the IRS directly. I was working on FAFSA today - question 80 is about parental income - the "helpful" box to the right mentions...

I also read here on CC somewhere that the link will not be available until Feb 1st .
When prompted by the FAFSA app, link to IRS, IRS fills out to the FAFSA.
2 weeks later, file FAFSA.

Does the FAFSA application have the same due date for every institution or do different schools have different due dates?
Also, I won't even know my acceptance decision for Penn until March 29th. If I get in and decide to go there, I will need to send...

Go to their financial website ^^That is correct.
I think penn requires PFAS, CSS Profile by today, and FAFSA by April.

Do not file your FAFSA as married....
Put down that you're separated.
FAFSA does not require that you be "legally separated".
It sounds like you're indicating that you're but not legally .
You need to indicate on FAFSA that you're separated.

The 2012-2013 FAFSA covers fall 2012, spring....
The 2011-2012 FAFSA is for fall 2011, spring 2012, and summer-2012.
You want to fill out the FAFSA the year you will attend and then every year after the first you will have to do a renewal.

I just called our attorney have info on the FAFSA.
We are going through it again this week, for next year's FAFSA.
We had to file our taxes early last year so we could get the FAFSA sent override".
It was pretty painless.

^^ is the "complete" in regards to 2011 to 2-weeks for Cal Grant to see that you have submitted a FAFSA form.

Of schools on 2/15 Since FAFSA allows updates (especially after tax return submitted) that all schools is like Common App in that a submission to a school can't be changed, so waiting could make sense, though, not that we got SS benefits....
