Okay - I've had it with Microsoft - finished - all done - enough!
Now I'm wanting to go to Apple - probably should have a long time ago - just a very slow learner.
BUT - I need to know a lot about the Apples machine before I purchase and I have not seen...

I think Apple products are excellent in quality & design.
I downloaded a music player and still have not beenBill.
Programs (Apple calls them apps) are hard to find.

I have a large (> 2TB) iTunes library of music and videos that I keep on a Drobo connected to an Airport Extreme base station so that I can access it wirelessly from my MacBook. This works great for just me, but with my soon-to-be wife about to move...

You could use myTuneSync at least, then you can create a new library wherever you want, and import the existing music it will work with 2 computers using....
That also let's you stream the music to an iPhone as well.

The only way to play the music from your iPod or iPhone is to set iTunes to 'Manually manage....
Try using manual sync? I have only an iPod Classic, but I can still play the music on other Sync, you can only use your own library no matter what.

Dear skeeg I was researching the downloading of Music from the internet.
As far as I can tell if you want to use Microsoft Windows operating system you cannot use Apples itunes to do this.
Can you please let me know which free or low cost non apple ones...

You can the music/video to your computer, or using audio software, save it that way.
That 90% of the downloads from Apple's iTunes store are made to computers running Windows.
