I've just ordered a Blu ray drive for my iMac and was wondering which is best for picture and sound quality? iVI or Handbreak. I will be using MakeMKV to rip the movie from the blu ray disc and then iVI or Handbreak to convert the file for iTunes, ATV...

Software (not Apple App store) if you want to import DVD VOB's.

SO much trouble to get Mac DVD burning software So I put together a slide shoe in Iphoto--nice. Then I burned it to a DVD-R and tried to play it in my Oppo. No can do. It did not recognize my disk. I had burned a just Data DVD earlier of my same photos...

I recently got a helmet camera for my motorbike and was able to make videos, however it stores it in Motion JPEG, which is very space inefficent. 30 minutes of 640x480 takes up 2GB. I can convert that to mpg, with this command:
ffmpeg -i myvideo.avi myvideo...

There are some potential problems with Apple , however I don't know if you....
As frontend when I rip and encode DVD:s I use Handbreak, MPEG4-class codec around.
And h264, but for now it seems to be ok .

ITunes has its own built in re encoder I believe .
I use Handbreak to do it.
Audio the iPad can read it.
Rips DVD's too, even the ones dvdfab won't.
I use it almost every day.
