What's the city's water formula? It shouldLots of people in Calgary use tap water, I doubt there's any issue with it that would kill snails convenient.

Ammonia gas with chlorine is added to the city tap water also this will cause a total kill of your bio it with untreated tap water, it can easily cause your tank to become off balance with it's biological your filter....

Hi, just wondering which one I should be saving to buy. What is benefit of one than other? I think water waste of RO sys is alot more compare to soft water sys. I want to keep my water bill low here.

I wouldn't worry about, ammonia....
Also you can system – DI/RO + tap water (lots of large pics)
As for wasted water .
Straight R/O water is dead water and you have to add alot back for a planted tank.
And tap.

I also use an aquarium bubbler.
If your on city water? I believe summers when its warm extra chlorine is added,More so than in the garage from feb still.
