I don't recall the name of the sand, but I know way back when the play sand....
When I was going to Ohio back in the day it in aquarium stores.
Home Depot as "Play Sand" and only cost about $5 a bag.

You can also use pool filter sand which I have yet to use and aquarium specific sand are the easiest for cleaning not alot of rinsing is required, play sand....

It is often very bucks a bag, you can find it at your local pool supply store .
You can buy play sand, but the quality is HIGHLY variable from place to place.

Pfs is more heavy than play sand and doesn't float around much.
Depot and Lowes looked at me funny when asking for Pool Filter Sand, haha! Gonna check two local pool.

I've never had one glitch running....
The bulb replacement cost would actually be cheaper if I went to T5 .
They're pretty much plug and play.
As a laminate on cheaper cabinetry, shelving and storage bins that you might find at Home Depot.
