Just do your research.
Like to do a saltwater tank, I would recommend going no smaller that a 75.
I was in school i worked in a saltwater aquarium store, where i learned a lot about caring for them.

But there are different levels....
For saltwater, depending if you want corals or not, you will need in half.
Certain filtration systems, but I would recommend using filters labeled for both freshwater and saltwater, or only fresh and only salt.
