Apart from flying...you will have to get a series of buses ;-) Or you can get a train for part of the trip,and then buses. There are several options,but I'd say the fastest would probably be La Paz-Villazon (border Bolivia and Argentina)...then Villazon...

Don't book online and most importantly don't book with Aerosur .
There are plenty of buses that go across the north of Argentina (from Salta ) without going down travel agent in La Paz.

Not sure I'd call it a slaughter.
Bird harvest is dictated by reproduction and survival they have a lot of birds in Argentina.
They just got there by different means.
As they are in Argentina and New Zealand...IMHO.
