Is music artist PitBull a hip hop artist or some other type artist? Does he rap? I never listened to him, but I see commercials of him on television.

He's a pop rapper.
I would classify him as a pop artist.
Personally, i don't like his music but other people listen to him because of the beats he uses.
Repeatedly to a beat that is catchy and danceable.

When it comes to classifying music by genre, I've found wikipedia to have more interesting genre information than most other data sources.
I seem to remember a database that collected this sort of information from Wikipedia and made it more easily accessible...
