We're looking at buying a house and the surveyors report states that the ceiling in the garage is asbestos cement. (House was built in 1960's).

Has anyone come across asbestos fencing before? is it safe to whipper snip along the fence or would spraying a thin line of glypho be better.

This is probably a stupid question. I have a 1970s ex-council flat. It has a horrible gas fire with some fake loose coal that I think was installed some time in the 90s. It is no longer connected up so is defunct and collects much dust.

Takes exposure to lots of the loose powdery form any asbestos.

That you suspect asbestos and let them worry about it!! the duty holder (either landlord or main contractor) will be responsible to identify asbestos in propertys and inform the workforce in advance of work.
