I seem to have virus problems that I can fix temporaryly but then it comes back. I don't notice any symptoms as such on my Windows XP laptop but my internet banking keeps preventing me to log in...

Point it at Microsoft Word for Windows and click....
Scroll down until you see DOC then highlight it and click on Change .
Then Tools, Folder Options, File Types.
Right click on Start and select Explore.
Sounds like nothing more than a file association error.
