I was a medical consultant for Social Security a psychologist.
The Psychologist for SSI or SSD is not the same as going to a Psychologist for personal reasons with the psychologist for Social Security Disability.

Most people don't get one until their first denial.
I too thought it best to get an attorney, right from the start.
A pain in the ass and so hard financially but surely with an attorney on the case you can get backpaid I would imagine.
