After that I made an audio recording using my Keyboard which sounded good too when recording.

I just defragmented both c: and d: drives. D: is where I keep all my media. After defragmentation, both itunes and mediamonkey are completely unable to play audio files, and VLC can play video but there is no sound. Internet streaming plays as normal....

Most open source cross platform audio programs that I have used use portaudio.

Specifically for pro-audio I would highly recommend looking in to jack.
