Autistic Child

Do they know yet roughly where on the spectrum he falls? By now you may have a good idea at least if he's going to be high or low functioning. I have worked with autistic kids in the past but mostly boys on the high half of the spectrum. Used to coach them in baseball and have done some work with parents on trying to understand how their child may be seeing the world and how they can adapt to it. source

My dd has a neuronal migration disorder which, IMO, explains her autism dx. I have great hope that as she matures and develops the correct neural pathways the autism dx will be dropped. I also believe that this si the reason that some children can be "cured" of autism. Not so much that they are healed but that they develop alternate neural pathways... source

When I first got his dx I drove myself crazy trying to do floortime and other things at home in discrete intervals until I realized that most of my interactions with him already used the same principles. Now we just do our own thing and everyone is much happier. source

At the age of 6 I dont believe Joey has ever lied. It makes sense that it would be considered a milestone. I guess when the time comes I wont know if I should punish him or have a party! source
