The lack of oil change should not trigger the SES light, but I sure hope you at least kept the oil on the light, however, neglecting an oil change for that long, particularly if it's cheap conventional ....

Other than that, I got nothing.
Did they add a "maintenance required" sort of light for the 2012's? If so, it might be telling you to get an oil change.
