I brought my saab almost new a number of years ago(18k miles in 2005) expecting to drive it till it quits. Except that gm basically gave up on the company and now it's bankrupt and I have to get parts second hand for it now.

Motorcycles are more dangerous simply because they have two wheels and there is no cage to protect the rider.
But everything is relative, when it come down to it .
Of getting in an auto accident is about 8%.

Its primarily an issue with OEMs.
The cam tensioner issue (if it tests every part, then there's no time to build motorcycles).
