Could your autotext entry be corrupt? What happen if you press Ctrl+F9?
If that works then you should redefine your AutoText entry.

If you have masses of AutoText....
Just restrict changes to the font and page
setup and it should be fine .
To locate normal.dot, you can likely to corrupt.
Customizations such as toolbars, AutoText and so on, that
you want to salvage.

OOo stores all the data user-related in a dedicated folder, often called the profile. You can check its location on your HD in the OOo menu Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Paths. Most of the folders mentioned in that dialog are in the OOo user profile...

or Quick), they are part of the list....
Are not getting autocorrects, your ACL file (for the language) is
either (almost) empty or corrupt.
