Background: I myself don't believe in 2nd baby showers...when I had my second I told everyone I did not want one. However, my sweet mother in law threw me a very small surprise coed family shower. I was polite and accepted it with a smile at the time....

I think it's rude to "expect" that a first baby shower, or wedding shower, or whatever is ever an actual baby shower, but just wanted to get together with her before she had the baby to celebrate pictures from....

My mother-in-law wants to have my baby shower at the end of March and I'm not due until July. These are her thoughts: My sister-in-law is getting married in May and having her bridal shower in April, so that kind of takes those two months and she's afraid...
