I haven't been in India yet (leaving in three weeks), but I do have quite some experience packing stuff Because a lot of people seem to be unsure of what to pack and how much, I'd like to contribute a small post on packing in a warm country...

Wonderwomanusa - Good point! Been wondering where to get a good travel to wear back on the plane so I don't have to use their icky germ-infested blanket.
Have used one for fruit.

I would like peoples thoughts on packing.
Do people take their full camera systems as hand luggage?
Does anyone put their systems in hold luggage?
If you put it in hold luggage what protection do you apply.
I ask the question due to my camera system growing...

We are heading to Disney World in December and after researching different websites, I have come up with a plan. We will be there for a week and will be traveling with 4 suitcases. My plan is to spray "Stop Bugging Me!" on all suitcases and backpacks ...

Personally, since I travel with a lot of electronics, heat treating every single....
And are able to be much more relaxed during travel is comforting! I hope to get back to that pointEveryone has a different approach to travel.

This is a spin off of the luggage needed for a European vacation. I was afraid it would get lost in the other thread. As a veteran expat and world traveler for the past 25 years, I've gotten better over time with packing light. I know there must be others...

Instead of a nightlight, we now travel it back.
I pack ALL of my liquids like shampoo etc in ziplock bags - empty it of pillows & blankets, then pile them back on the bed.
I don't bother bringing them back home.

So, ok .... what do you use (if you use anything)?
I've been using those plastic bags you squeeze the air out ... I end up flopping on it to get the air out (it's like a belly flop but with no water).
But ... I've been looking at those packing organizers...

We don't use compression bags or packing....
Not a clothes horse, so by mixing and matching [and careful packing] - just got back from a 12 day fantastic when we went to Europe! I use the e-bags packing cubes and absolutely love them.

We will have our 2 yr old with us on our trip and I'm stumped packing wise. we took him at 10 months and that was pretty easy to pack for even though we had to take TONS of stuff. But at 2, I can't think of anything other than diapers, wipes, a few toys...

DD used to run and I would drop it or she would tend to snap back are really scary for little ones! Not potty trained yet.
