I have managed to get a manual download backup to work, but everything else seems to fail. Here is what I am seeing in the event logs:
For Manual Email option:

Seriously this should be fairly easy to implement, but there doesn't appear to be ANY email notification option for the status of backups.
It should, at the least, send an email (if you do daily) daily, with the status of the previous backup.
As it stands...

That's what Vault Support sent to me.
The selection "On backup completion, send <status and errors> to the alert email address" appears not have email ability for backup status.

I have:
1 Linux "backup" server (Ubuntu 9.10 server) (plenty of disk, new server) 2 Gentoo servers 2 CentOS servers 3 Windows 2003 servers I'd like to backup all of the servers as disk-to-disk backups to the Ubuntu backup server.

I recently revamped my backup routine on my development server. I created a maintenance plan for user databases that did some weekly cleanup tasks, daily full backups and transactionlog backups at key points throughout the day....

Don't worry about it too much.
To be a full backup to use as a starting point for rolling forward.
