I've currently got my email and calendar hosted on Google Apps. However I really like some of the features that have gone into GMail (themes, etc) and would like to move my mail and calendar to GMail. Ultimately, I'd like to:

I'm having a hard time justifying on-premises e-mail these days due to the amount of my time it sucks away from me (too many 2am Saturday mornings) due to improper implementation and user expectations. Although the Saturday morning thing pisses me off...

I've got it down to about a 30 minute, and it's difficult to work out quite how you attribute a percentage of that cost solely to email that we get with hosted ....
So even doing a mailbox backup to the NAS gets touchy.

I've happily been running a mail server on my home network to handle my personal domain email for the last 6 years. The old PIII server that is my mail server is now on it's last legs and I'm contemplating my options.

It is a no-brainer to use Google Apps (or some other hosted email quite frankly).

Hi,
I have a WordPress install that doesn't seem to send email to Google Apps emails accounts that are on the domain (@testdomain.com) Here is the setup:
WordPress is on my VPS (testdomain.com/blog)
Email is with Google Apps email.
DNS is with dnsmadeeasy...

If you setup WHMCS to send emails out via SMTP since it would have to log into gmail/google's own server setup with google apps to act as wordpress's notification email, as such it has it's own SMTP login the email....

We have been using Google Hosted email that providesYou could retrieve all your e-mail to your machine through IMAP/POP3 and backup locally using your on the server.
So it has no effect on the web interface.

There are many excellent mail servers to use hosted Exchange....
You can use Google Apps email with their own domainname and configure each prefer, set up your own server (or have it hosted).
Then file it under Sent Items.
