I run a website where we mark certain accounts as scammers, and "flag" their account and all credit cards used as being bad. We don't store actual credit card values, but are storing a checksum/MD5 algorithm of it instead.
We are hitting collisions all...

Do you reconcile your credit card statements? Like many people, I run most of my expenses through a credit card. What I don't do is match my receipts up to my statement at the end of the month. How much money am I leaving on the table by not doing this...

Found out today that my cousin was 35k in the hole in credit cards. When I talked to them yesterday, she only thought it was 20k - so suffice to say, not the best grasp on finances. How you forget about 15k in credit card debt... moving on.

Credit card companies do not negotiate principal, but once you stop paying and it gets charged off legitimately owes and not being a deadbeat, she should really just deal with the credit card companies doesn't need to declare....
