Can baking soda make your food taste? I put baking soda in my fridge to take odor out. There was ground beef in a plastic package and my dad cooked it and it tastes like baking soda..is this normal

No, baking soda is suppose to absorb other food's taste, not the other way around.

No reason for that, just used to doing it in other low carb baking mixes.
I did add a 1/4 t of baking powder and used club soda in place of water.
With butter.

It's just cream of tartar and baking....
And you can make baking powder from ingredients that do store well.
Applications besides baking bread and can always mix together to bake

This was my first time using my FD 10" square pan, 3" deep. I lined bottom with parchment, sprayed sides, positioned 2 nail heads equally spaced towards center, used a soaked bake even strip, filled pan 1/2 full (and no more), rapped the pan several times...
