I'd go Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and it's expansion Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal for the best overall experience.
Close with PST being a distant third.

Still have my original media for the BG PC franchise .
I wanted to get it from GoG, but my card kept declining - so I bought it from GameStop via Digital Download .
Same got it on GOG for like 2.50 three weeks back or so, haven't started it yet though .

So. The Baldur's Gate series is getting the "enhanced edition" makeover by Beamdog. The engine was expanded, and the UI is being completely rebuilt to satisfy even iPad users (by the way it's coming to Mac and iPad), and content is being added as well...
