Ballet teaches you techniques, while Jazz is ballet modified without all the fancy terms to you can try.
I started with Jazz and went onto Ballet because I want to pursue a career in dance.

Call around to your local dance schools and see what skating and ballet ....
It doesn't bother anyone, remember it's about learning the dance, and not who is dancing with you.
Of my 4 classes I dance with girls 13 & up.

You lose your dance skills because you stop dancing, or you stop dancing as much as you used harder to do than we were younger- this is in all things, not just dance.

You will probably also lose weight because dance (any kind) is very rigorous exercise.

I've never worn ballet heels, though I dance in pointe at work and at home for fun from time to time and I've never set foot in a ballet class.
I wouldn't walk more than a few steps in them .
Or sitting down or for photos.

Lily was invited to audition for the Spring Concert of the ballet company she performed Nutcracker with. The company is attached to a dance studio which also has a competition team. The studio is based on strong ballet and the comp team is very good.

Is it too late to start Ballet at 14? 14 is really quite late to start Ballet. I used to do it when I was younger but I quited because of the horrible teacher. I wish I had kept in at it because I'd like good balance and good flexibility. I already do...

Audition at a few different places to make sure you like the teacher could always look into other dance studios.
