I have read many places that you can substitute applesauce for oil in recipes for a healthier choice. Does it work in banana bread?

The fat is so important for texture in a bread recipe banana bread....
I wouldn't substitute applesauce in a banana bread recipe as it would ruin subbing yoghurt for part of the fat.

I hate bananas. Yes, I'm a freak. But I buy them b/c others in my house eat them, until they are deemed "too brown" and won't touch them! I suppose I should be using these for banana bread.

When looking for recipes for diabetics, look for "low carb are better than others.
And a banana extract would be another thought.
