I have some bananas that are over ripe and I have banana bread in the freezer. I would like to mash them and freeze them for later use. Do you freeze bananas? Someone told me you can't freeze bananas but I'm not sure why if I'm just going to use them ...

I use them for banana bread after frozen.
You will only want to cook with em.
Freeze but they are much easier to mush up when thawed .
When they get to 5, a banana bread gets made.
Place for the bananas that are too ripe to eat.

Possibly the potassium? I have heard before that when Bananas are quite raw the sugars in them sugary so they are easier to digest.
That bananas really irritated my Crohns...I guess it's another of case of everyone being different.

We went to our local tailgate food give-away this morning and got 4 clear boxes of mini bananas. They are sooo cute! LOL. And still so green! So, I will set them aside for a couple of days until they ripen up a bit. I've never had the mini bananas before...

So, after some searching on the internet, it seems that bananas are OK to put in the refrigerator only AFTER they they are ripe.
Some enzyme in the bananas which causes the starches to turn into sugar and ripen doesn't function after being subjected to...

I didn't know that refrigerating bananas will deactivate their ripening, but I routinely put bananas in the fridge or the freezer after they have ripened.
