Modern metal bands out of touch with real metal?
I think I recall an interview with Bring Me The Horizon that I stumbled upon, where they said that Pig Destroyer wasn't grindcore. I'm not really sure what the fuck they thought they were doing talking about grindcore anyway, but it seems that this might be common.

Some good metal bands?
The only metal band I really like is Dream Theater. There is no guttural growling, which is mainly why I like them above other metal bands, but hey-ho, check them out anyway.

Any Deathcore,Death metal, thrash metal, bands in the 1940's, 1950's 1960's, 1970's?
Rock music just started in the 50's, the main ones were little richard and elvis. You didn't have metal until the late 70's like the above poster said.

Do the new slam metal bands even have lyrics?
Most new Brutal and Slam Death Metal bands have lyrics but I do believe they are only for booklet decoration. The focus is more on snorting like a pig and sounding brutal than learning lyrics and pronouncing them.
