Son is living in barracks and on the phone last night to his Dad he said something about moving out of barracks into a hostel ??? Not sure if this was correct
But are there any rules about them moving out of barracks, single man that is, not a family?...

I think they need permission too move out of barracks, A friend of ours lives off barracks him and a few lads private rent a house.

I'm planning on joining the military soon, most likely Navy, and I am curious are there kitchens in the barracks? I know we can go to the mess hall for our meals but are there options for people who like to cook meals for themselves?

Have no idea on the new shore barracks that are being built for sea duty sailors..
There might be a little snack room that has a microwave, but thats it .
None of the barracks I've ever been in had kitchens.
