What you DO NOT want to....
That is what they were actually designed for use in .
I still do not know if this method allows the use in a smooth bore barrel just like pellets/buckshot can be used.
I missed many of the posts.
barrel? thank you.

Was just wondering what difference the barrel makes on a .17hmr? Also, due to the thickness of a varmint barrel, what is the deal with getting a moderator? is the barrel just threaded right down so that any .17hmr moderator can be put on?

Can I replace the factory ramped bull barrel that comes with a lightweight Champ Operator with a non-ramped regular bushing barrel? I realize a ramp in the frame will have to be installed.
When I say "I" I mean a competent gunsmith. : )
Thanks!

Thanks for your response.
I don't know what a Champ Operator the champion and it's a 4" barrel.
To be anything less than 4.25 inches requires a bull barrel, no bushing.

What are some pros & cons of the 16 vs. 18 inch barrel on an AR? I am looking to get an AR in a couple of months and I wanted to know what were some advantages & disadvantages of the 18 inch barrel compared to the standard length of regular ARs.

Remember that even though the BARREL is a given plinking Wish I would have done it sooner....
Primarily, the 18" barrel buys you the rifle length gas system, which will feel softer to shoot with the 14.5" being super handy and fast on target.

Also, the lugs on the barrel....
It is a key component in how the barrel disengages, I would be watching closely to see if you begin work fine.
To info? Pins are sometimes oblong to better fit the barrel, I have never seen one stretch .003.

Indeed airsoft barrels range from 8.2mm to 8mm (standard WA inners, but does, as has been mentioned, ....
RS is 5.56mm and air soft is 6mm+ depending on the outside diameter of the inner barrel.
Not without drilling the RS barrel out.

But you are probably correct he.
Not whether it was stainless to start with.
Here: DIY Barrel polishing write-up The "black barrels" are carbon steel removing the finish the black off his barrel.
